We had a terrific Trivia Night on January 30 with 19 teams playing, including over 150 people from our Temple and greater community. We earned $3,552 for the Temple and the Community Chest!

Congratulations and Mazel Tov to the winning teams: First Place: the Tallackson Table, Second Place: the Peaceniks, Third Place: the Post-Tribune Table. And hooray also to the Tried-Hardest Tables: the Golden Girls and the Brainiacs (which included Nostradamus and Solomon!) The Table-Top Scavenger Hunt 50/50 was won by the Big Chai Table 18!
This 2 nd Annual night of games was a supreme Team effort from our awesome Trivia committee. Warmest thanks to: Carol H. (the incredible Silent Auction with over 60 great items), Lisa G., Wendy R., Kelly F. and David A. (Food Committee), John N. and Gordon A. (Beverage Bar), Joanna B. (Raffle and Door Prizes), Deb W. (Decoration), Geri R. and Faye D. (Outreach and Publicity) and Darlene N., Judi T., Bud R. and Ron R. (Registration, Set-up, Money Matters & More).
Special thanks for the ever hard work and strudel prizes of David H., the delicious homemade prizes donated by Marlene R., Diane C. and Fonnie D, the Wii donation from David A. and the multimedia contributions of Dan S.
The Silent Auction was an exciting part of the night and brought in about one half of our funds. Silent Auction Chairperson Carol H. wishes to thank all of her volunteers who helped make the auction so successful: Harry B., Joanna B., Michael, Lisa, Moe and Elaine G., Rosalie L., Darlene N., Irene P., Jerry and Marlene R., Jane Ellen R., Judi T., and Jill U.
Trivia Night would be impossible without the tireless Teen Runners! Big thank you goes out to Moe G., Josh R., Anna B., Zoe S., and Zack, Josh and Jessie H. They ran hard all night long (We missed you Elaine!)
The four judges worked their fingers to the bone checking and rechecking over 105 answers. Many thanks to Adam S., Jack G., Margie H., and Barbara S.

We were thrilled to have a special guest Emcee, Post Trib reporter Jerry Davich (who wrote about the even in the paper the next week), and we are very grateful for the outreach work of so many Temple members who attracted teams and filled tables with folks from all over the community (such as Rabbi and the God Squad). Participants received points for canned goods, so we also gathered many boxes and bags full of Food Bank donations which filled up the Federation pantry the next day.
This year our categories included: Century Celebrations (famous centennials), Boys & Girls from the Hood (Gary natives), Winter Get-Aways, My Kind of Town (Chicago), Northside/Southside (Cubs/Sox), Name that Beatle Character, Man’s Best Friend (Dogs), Civics & Scandals, I Liked the Book Better (Movies & Authors) and Junk Food Junkies. Hint: These will NOT be the categories next year…so study up!
Sincerely, The Trivial Program Team: Sean E., Rebecca H. & Robin R.
